There will be no more PPO meetings at Mike Dill's apartment. He's moved and we shouldn't disturb the the new tenants.

next meeting
for the next business/council meeting: Do we have a location? If we are unable to use a private facility, I would recommend the Clinton Corner cafe on Clinton and 21st/20th near 7 corners district in hosford-abernathy. Are there locations that are more central to our volunteers?
this leads me to some agenda items for business/council meeting:
1. Potential for council meetings to be held on same date as our currently scheduled "general meetings"
- background: i recently attended a very well-run PCASC meeting wherein all general membership was included in a consensus process. It was my first occassion at such a meeting and everything flowed very well and the transparency was very high and everyone's opinion was welcome within the timeframe. I would suggest adopting this format for our general meetings, essentially combining them with the general meetings.
2. Greater emphasis on volunteerism. "What projects are you working on?" would be excellent conversational lexicon. Portland lends itself to such rich diversity of involvment as a citizen - to make use of the inherent altruism present at the meetings is an opportunity at every meeting. How can we engage and empower folks who are looking to fulfill or identify their role(s) in the community?
3. Inclusion of Regional cooperation in Peak oil resolution.
-Like all of us, I'm so excited about Daltzman's proposal to City council to pass the Task Force Resolution. (You may not have been there for the April 12 general meeting when he announced the city's plan to adopt the resolution.)
- I feel obligated to voice the concern and disappointment I have for the lack of mention regarding regional cooperation although the OR Dept. of Energy is a great component to the language. I propose suggesting language that would indicate intent to assist, advise, and solicit cooperation from other local governments and Metro.
4. Outreach for City Council meeting:
- Once the agenda with the Peak Oil Resolution is set, How do we mobilize our allies to be present at the meeting to (potentially) endorse any language we'd like to see added?
- What about low-income communities and social justice? The only mention close to this is health care (and possibly land use planning).
I herewith putforth these items to be included on the council meeting agenda for May 1, location TBD
next meeting
I totally agree that discussing the first two items is a good idea.
As for the third item, it's unfortunate that there isn't any wording in the resolution about regional cooperation; but I figure, we should work with what we have for now (after all, it's enough work for the present. If we need to expand our work to include regional organizations, we can do that later, provided that is the conclusion the taskforce reaches.) We do need to discuss our recommendations for the task force, as Dan Saltzman requested.
Fourth item: I agree with your first bulleted point, but not necessarily the second; I'd hope that ideally our local solution to peak oil will include everyone, regardless of financial standing... simply because of the systemic nature of economies. If you'd like to focus on social justice issues, perhaps you could start a policy group project?

Potential meeting location
Laughing Horse Books at SE 36th & Division is a nice place to have small meetings - they can accomodate at least as many people as the clubhouse, and they close around 7:00 and just leave us there with the key to let ourselves out. We just had our prep meeting there last week and it was great. They were very receptive to holding our meetings there.
Potential meeting location
Laughing Horse is fine by me.

Potential meeting location
Although, I know Laughing Horse has other groups meeting there on a regular basis; we'll want to make sure there are no scheduling conflicts.

I'll give Laughing Horse a call tomorrow re: Council meeting. If they're booked, we can go to Mike's house in Sellwood.
