Announcement: Call for Applications – Volunteer Opportunity

The City of Portland/Multnomah County Sustainable Development Commission (SDC) currently has two (2) vacant positions. The City of Portland is calling for applications from members of the public who are interested in being considered for appointment to the SDC.

The SDC is a citizen advisory panel reporting directly to Portland City Council and the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners. Six of the eleven SDC Members are appointed by the City, and five are appointed by the County. The commission promotes programs and policies in three main areas:

Supporting sustainable economic development
Creating sustainability communications and education campaigns
Promoting sustainable internal government operations
The SDC generally meets from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of each month in Portland’s City Hall. Members are expected to attend all meetings and actively engage in and contribute to SDC projects and focus areas.

The City will begin reviewing submitted interest forms beginning June 18, and will do so until the vacant positions are filled. If you have submitted an interest form for the SDC in the past, please submit an updated form or contact Michele Crim (see below) to indicate your continued interest in being considered.
