Brief Description:
Website includes info, photos and descriptions of some recent projects, and link to purchase Rocket Mass Heaters book (PDF).
Additional Info:
Rocket Stoves are a DIY, super-efficient wood-burning heater. Variations include a horizontal masonry stove bed (can be a heated bench, bed, or greenhouse heater), an in-wall or in-floor "discreet" heater, or a basic J-tube "emergency heater" built from a metal drum or bucket and some stovepipe. The full masonry version can heat a small house on about 1/10 the wood normally used by a conventional woodstove.
Keep an eye out for local workshops, too -- three or four of the researchers live in Oregon.
