Say NO TO LNG Pipeliens at NW Natural Shareholders Meeting!

May 22 2008 - 1:00pm
May 22 2008 - 2:00pm

This THURSDAY May 22nd @ 1pm- Take a Late Lunch and…

Take a Stand Against Global Warming, Liquefied Natural Gas(LNG)
& Increasing Oregon’s dependence on Foreign Fossil Fuels!

Join the Protest at NW Natural’s Annual Shareholders meeting!
NW Natural Offices (220 NW 2nd Ave in Portland)

NW Natural is supporting plans to more than double gas imports into Oregon through the NorthernStar LNG project and NW Natural’s Palomar Pipeline and THIS THURSDAY is your chance to let the people who own NW Natural what you think of these actions.

Despite NW Natural’s current campaign to greenwash its image, the three proposed LNG terminals planned for Oregon would result in greenhouse gas emissions equal to over 11 million cars! AND with LNG now selling for twice the price of domestic gas it’s a great time to tell NW Natural Shareholders that LNG and LNG pipelines are a bad investment!

Bring your signs, tractors, kids, neighbors, anti-LNG shirts & buttons and let's tell our utility's shareholders to DROP THEIR LNG and PIPELINE PLANS!

And for even more fun -- participate in our Morning Visibility Actions!
Come get the day started out right and welcome NW Natural's shareholders to town with a display of some big signs on Portland's major bridges and busiest downtown intersections that highlight their involvement in LNG and the pipeline!

We'll meet up at an easy freeway exit off the I-5 then spread out to close by highly visible locations.  We'll meet out in front of 50 SE Yamhill at 7:30 a.m.. – and we'll have signs ready to go.  To get there take I-5 North into Portland, take the exit heading towards I-84 Eastbound and then take your first exit for "OMSI Central Eastside Industrial District."  From the exit go straight onto Yamhill and we'll be in the first block on the right.

This is a great opportunity to show NW Natural that we will not take this lying down!

Hope to see you all there on the 22nd!
