Getting something on the agenda for a PPO meeting

There has been several questions asked about getting a topic on the agenda for a PPO meeting.  The process as I see it is something like this...

1) a meeting is called

2) possible agenda topics are likely proposed/brainstormed.

2a) if you want to add something to the agenda, then comment on the post where the meeting is called.  You could show up at the meeting and propose a topic but it seems to be preferred that the topic is known in advance.

2b) If you propose an agenda topic and if you can't be there to represent the topic and if no one else feels qualified to address the topic, then the propose agenda topic will not be covered.

3) at the start of the meeting the possible agenda topics are reviewed and the topics are selected.

4) each topic that is selected at the start of the meeting is maybe/likely given a time limit.

5) hopefully someone is able to take minutes and the process for taking and approving minutes isn't strucutred or agreed upon.

Do you like this? Any suggestions? counter-offers?

Agenda Items

I believe that the process Jeremy posted above is for an agenda item at a sub-group meeting like council or prep. If someone wants an item at the Wed meeting at St. Francis, you could attend a prep or council meeting and make the suggestion. OR just post it as a fourm topic and see what feedback you get. Those of us who actively attend the council meetings monitor the postings so we will see your suggestion.

Agenda Items

Also, I know that at the General Meetings we do specifically ask people to propose topics for discussion by breakout groups...

good points

I have always thought of Wednesdays at St. Francis as something other then meetings, but I can see how that would be confusing. The break out topics for the general meeting are handled differently as well.
