At the prep meeting last night we kicked around the idea of using the 1st Wednesdays at St. Francis for a reading circle/review for the book "When Technology Fails". It is a big book it will take a while to complete, but I think would be of value to long time PPOers and to folks new to peak oil if we start off the meeting with a brief review of the chapter and how it is relevant to Peak Oil.

Using 1st Wednesday at St.
Sounds like a good idea to me... hell, I might even come in for that :)... although I do need to buy a copy of the book. Who wanted to host?

Laughing horse books and rotating hosts
Laughing horse books would likely have copies of the books available to at St. Francis. As for how would be hosting it, it would likely just rotate and ideally hand off to folks outside the regular council meeting attenders.
When Tech Fails
It also sounds good to me.
Sure
Anybody who doesn't agree can come up with the topics for the next 15 first Wednesday meetings!! : ) Carla
1st Wednesdays
I wish I could be there!!! I'm still stuck on the East Coast until 30 SEP.
I'm still here with stupid people, where military-type people drive Hummers with "support the troops" and "Marines" stickers on the back. That's actually more than I can take out here, and intend to confront these people, if I see them in a parking lot.
