Redcross 72 hour disaster training

Theressa found an interesting post on cnrg and thought it might be an interesting Wed nite topic Maybe a good first Wed...prep night topic?  The presentation is 30-45 minutes long and they bring a kit to show and they are available the first Wed in April...

If we decide to go with this idea, she could get us a list of kit items and we could send it out before the training (we can also post the list to our website) so people can pick up their items before the presentaion.

Here is the complete cnrg post:

        Subject: Free Red Cross Trainings

House fires, earthquakes, tsunamis and floods....would you, your co-workers and family members know what to do during a disaster?  The Oregon Trail Chapter (OTC) of the American Red Cross is working to make Oregon the most prepared state in the nation. We want all Oregonians to have the knowledge, and preparedness skills to allow them to deal with potential disasters. The Together We Prepare Oregon campaign of the American Red Cross offers FREE disaster preparedness presentations to groups of ten or more throughout the community. Presentations generally last from 30 min to an hour depending  on the needs of each group. We have disaster preparedness literature in many languages; Spanish speaking presenters are also available. The presentation covers material ranging from the types of natural disasters that can occur in our area, to how you can make a 72 hour disaster supplies kit, and what to do both during, and after an earthquake.  We aim to bring disaster preparedness information to all Oregonians and we are happy to present at various community centers, such as churches, business groups, or neighborhood associations.

Once again the presentation is FREE and we are flexible in our availability in order to best serve the community. If you or your organization is interested in scheduling a presentation or learning more about disaster preparedness, please feel free to call 503-528-5699, or send an e-mail to marshs at redcross-pdx.edu. You can also call the preparedness hotline at 503-528-5665 with any disaster preparedness questions.
