Sending someone to the "Local Solutions to the Energy Dilemma"
I encourage Emily, or anyone similarly interested, to:
1) describe the specific benefits they see for the PPO community if someone from here attends the conference;
2) determine the full cost of attendance;
3) request financial support to attend from any and all people who value the benefits described (assuming the cost is the limiting factor).
Pledges could be taken anonymously, and the periodic totals reported back to the group, as needed, for the group members' consideration of additional pledges. [I got this idea from a group that helped finance a member's trip to his mother's distant funeral].
Whatcha all think?
Sending someone or (someones) to the conference
I like this idea. Also, the people who want to go can contact the conference and see if they have any scholarships and if locals could put them up for the night. Start checking airlines for prices. Maybe we could make this work. If someone took a camara, like Jim always does, the visitor could bring back a video of the conference for the rest of us :-)
