Permaculture...permanent agriculture. Fruits and nut trees are great - you can harvest them year after year without replanting, and most become more productive over time. But what about vegetables? Join the Portland Permaculture Guild Monday Feb. 19th for a discussion on vegetables that can take a permanent position in your garden. We'll talk about a variety of veggies from roots to shoots to leaves to "fruits"! Everyone will be able to share their favorites (if they have one!) and learn new ones suited for this area as well. We'll include preparation and storage ideas too as time permits.

We will also hold an informal seed exchange - bring along any seeds you have to share. Anyone who would like to participate can bring a few used envelopes or other containers to take home their new seeds. It is not required to bring any seeds to get a few new types for your garden!

Portland Permaculture Guild meets at Pacific Crest Community School at NE 29th & Davis (2 blocks N of Burnside). The optional potluck starts at 6:00 p.m. - please bring your own plate/cup/utensils and a yummy dish to share. Please label your dish wheat/dairy/meat/etc. if applicable. The meeting topic starts at 7:00. Hope to see you there!
